About Scamp Baby Gifts

Sisters, Stacey and Jennifer were born in the decade where style was a bit more groovy than quirky cool and grew up with swathes of orange patterned wall paper, a swirly shag pile carpet and a floor scattered with Fisher Price toys.

Fast forward to this decade (and with four kids between us) the quest to find lovely, unusual and affordable items for our own children’s bedrooms intensified. This proved to be harder than you might imagine. Scamp Baby Gifts was born out of the sisters love of unusual things for children and frustration at not easily being able to find them.

 

We have always been a crafty family - a particular highlight being the annual ‘who has made the loveliest Christmas card competition?’ with our youngest sister! - so that, coupled with a renewed interest in sewing and appliqué, meant we wanted to hand make our own unique children's products - starting with hand stitched pictures.

 

Our kids seemed to be very appreciative of their new wall art (a slightly biased audience I know!) but our friends loved them and their friends too. With those votes of confidence, a lot of planning, market researching, phone calling, tea drinking, new product designing, nappy changing and fabric shop visiting we were super excited (and, if we're honest, slightly nervous) to be able to launch Scamp Baby Gifts at the beginning of 2010.
