Jonah was given a butterfly ‘kit‘ for his birthday which involved receiving five teeny tiny caterpillars through the post. They arrived in their tub of food which remains their home until they go into their chrysalises. Starting on day one at less than a centimetre these insects sure know how to eat and grow. About 10 times the size that they started as they are fairly piling on the grams before they head into the world of butterflyness.

those magnificent men in their flying machines … a day dedicated to all things flying at the Abingdon Airshow. There’s only so much loop the looping of aeroplanes that holds my interest (however skilful) but ladies atop these little beauties doing acrobatics … that’s another matter. Impressed!
coming into summer nights means evenings in the park and a little bit of glorious sunshine – hooray
despite it being two days late (late work nights for Mr P meant birthdays needed to be postponed) we celebrated his moving into another year in style. A ‘cake’ made by the kids, for a very big kid, contained homemade choc chip cookies, lots of jelly sweets and a smurf. A few of his many favourite things
you’re only five once .. right? Well, not so in Jonah’s case. He turned five as we boarded the aeroplane back to London from Thailand so birthday cake numero uno was delivered just before we left. The ‘real birthday’ was spent in a haze of jet lag so involved our lovely local cafe providing a chocolate slice for him that night and the final one was my attempt at cake pops! Slight disaster as a few chose to fall off their sticks pre a few of his school friends arriving to share them but, hey, they taste the same stickless or not, But, note to self, please remember these were a massive faff to make and think again before attempting for the next birthday!

and there you go … a whole month has passed in a blur and I have not put a single picture up on the blog. A haze of holidaying, 5 year old birthday and Trade Show preparation has taken over the month of April and a bit of May too. So, April 2013 is a little montage of very happy times spent in Thailand during the Easter Holidays with a dollop of sorries that I haven’t managed to get more pictures up more regularly.
